Advertising on WarpDesk: Our AdSense Approach

Yes, we run ads. No, they don't touch your vault. Here's exactly how.

Where ads appear

Only on public marketing pages (home, blog, contact) and inside the optional 'earn credits' surface. Never on the vault. Never on the inbox. Never on family management.

Which network

Google AdSense. We considered private ad exchanges but AdSense's disclosure and content policies are the strictest we found, which matters for a household product.

How the earn-credit path works

You opt in per action. An ad loads, you watch and click. Two engagements equal one credit. No auto-play, no interstitials.

What the ads see

The URL path, the fact that you're logged in (as a boolean, not who you are), and no personal data. AdSense does what AdSense does with that — cookies for ad measurement, mostly.

Consent

GDPR-region users see the standard consent banner. Non-consenting users see fewer, less-targeted ads. Nobody sees zero ads unless they subscribe.

Content policy compliance

Every AdSense-visible page complies with their content policies — no adult content, no illegal, no incitement, none of the categories the network prohibits. That's a real editorial constraint on the blog too.

Ad-blocker friendliness

We don't nag ad-blocker users. If your household runs a blocker, the credit-earn path won't work for you, but everything else does. That's a legitimate trade.

A worked example

A family on the free tier earns 4 credits a month watching ads. AdSense pays us a fraction of what those credits are worth — the difference is our contribution to keeping the free tier real.

Turning ads off entirely

Admins can disable ads for the family from the admin panel. All members lose the earn path but see no ads inside the app either.

Wrap it up

Ads are a compromise. We think it's an honest one — disclosed, opt-in for credit earning, and never mixed with sensitive surfaces.
